03 / YOUR FOUNDATION
MT4 and MT5 server hosting for brokers.
A trading platform is part of a wider environment. Design the server, network, access and backup arrangements around the way your brokerage actually operates.
Architecture before allocation
Review platform requirements, expected workload, connection dependencies and target users. Choose server resources and location based on the assessed project rather than a generic package.
Access with clear ownership
Define administrative roles, remote access requirements and responsibility for credentials. Separate day-to-day operations from privileged maintenance wherever the environment allows.
Monitoring that leads to action
Agree the components to monitor, the alert thresholds and the people responsible for responding. A useful alert includes an owner and an escalation path.
Backups and restoration
Set backup scope, retention and restoration checks as part of the operating plan. Capacity, recovery targets and offsite requirements are confirmed for the selected infrastructure.
PLAN THE FULL PROJECT
Hosting decisions should follow the workload.
Brokerage server hosting involves more than allocating a machine. The environment must fit the platform requirements, operational workload, external connections and support model. Resource sizing, location and redundancy should follow that assessment rather than an unverified latency or capacity promise.
Information for a hosting assessment
- The platform components and external systems that will run on or connect to the infrastructure.
- Current resource measurements, expected operating patterns and the geographic location of users and providers.
- Required access roles, maintenance windows, backup retention and recovery priorities.
A usable infrastructure scope
- A server and connection map with the required operating-system and platform dependencies.
- A responsibility matrix for administration, alert handling, patching and external-provider escalation.
- A backup and migration plan with defined restoration checks and handover documentation.
Hosting, monitoring, backup retention and incident response are different commitments. The proposal should show which are included and how they will be measured.
FREQUENTLY ASKED
A clearer scope.
From the start.
Have a more specific requirement? Let’s look at your project together.
Talk to the teamHow is a server configuration selected?
The starting point is your platform, workload, integration map and operational requirements. A configuration is recommended after reviewing these inputs.
Can an existing server be migrated?
A migration can be assessed after reviewing access, dependencies, data scope and the acceptable maintenance window. Testing and rollback planning form part of the scope.
Does hosting include monitoring and backups?
These are separate items to define in the proposal. Coverage, retention, alert handling and restoration checks should be agreed explicitly.
